Deep Space Studio is a Christchurch (NZ) and Shanghai (China) based Creative company, founded by New Zealand Architect Jeff Bonner.

The company is concept driven, and delivers projects of all scales to a wide range of Clients worldwide.

Jeff has also lived in London and Beijing, and now calls Shanghai home for the last 17 years. (19 years total in China) 

 

Projects have been undertaken all over the world, from New Zealand and Australia, UK to Dubai, as well as the length and breadth of China, from Macau to Chongqing to Shenyang.

Personal travel to Tibet and many rural areas have been inspirational.

 

The project typology we have undertaken is as rich and diverse, with design types covering Master Planning, Architecture, and Interiors for mixed-use developments, Apartment buildings, Offices, Schools, Institutional Interiors, International Hotels, Retail, and art installation works.

Jeff won 2020 CIDF Senior Interior Design Expert Award.

 

The ongoing urban projects include; 

 

Flagship store of Jieqiang tobacco and wine group, Pudong, Shanghai WINNER 2020 CIDF Gold Award for Commercial space. 

 

Headquarters and R+D campus  (conceptual design stage) for Yangzhou YangNong Chemical Industry Group, Jiangsu. WINNER 2020 CIDF Gold Award for Architecture.

 

Cybernaut (Industry 4.0, Ai, AIoT, 5G, Digital twin) High Tech Exhibition Hall  Jiading, Shanghai,

(winner "Huading Award" at the international environmental art innovation design of the 15th China Architectural decoration and Design Art Expo,

WINNER 2019 Gold Diamond Award for exhibition space scheme ")

 

Deep Space Studio (DSS) is also involved in International projects, such as villa projects in the New Farm area and Tenerife districts of Brisbane, Australia, as well as private residences and apartment complexes in Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand .

 

DSS designed the flagship Wolverhampton wolves “Megastore” for Fosun International at their new Foster designed complex, the Bund Financial Center (BFC).   This project won the "Huading Award” at the 15th China International Architectural decoration and Design Art Exhibition space 2019 Silver Award of Art Fair ".

 

Also completed for Fosun was an art installation for Wolverhampton Wolves inside the Heatherwick designed Fosun Art Foundation building, in the the BFC complex. 

Named “the huddle”, it symbolises teamwork and unity.

 

 

 

DSS is multi-lingual, and has a proven track record for all scales of project.

As International Architects, we team up with Local Design Institutes for all the Regulatory and Engineering aspects of our Architecture work, and have Class 1 Architecture and Engineering LDI’s as our partners.
